Jenna Halupnik - 2017
Jenna Halupnik was one of the first recipients of the Billy Franks Memorial Scholarship. Billy and Jenna spent a good deal of time in the special education classroom together at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School. She will be starting Tri-C in the fall of 2017. After her first year of college she is planning to transfer to the University of Akron to study special education. Once she finishes school, Jenna wants to become a 5th grade intervention specialist in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights school district.
Patrick Lyons - 2017
Patrick was the first lacrosse player to receive the Billy Franks Memorial Scholarship. He was the captain of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights lacrosse team and really pushed all his teammates to be the best,including Billy. He will be attending The University of Mount Union in the fall of 2017 where he will continue to play lacrosse. Patrick is planning on double majoring in finance and business. After graduating, he is thinking of becoming a financial planner.
Bobby Urse - 2017
Bobby was another one of the first lacrosse players to receive the Billy Franks Memorial Scholarship. While on the Brecksville-Broadview Heights lacrosse team, Bobby played as a midfielder. Bobby and Billy both had similar personalities which was one of the reasons he was rewarded with this scholarship. He will be attending Ohio University in the fall of 2017 and is majoring in nutrition. After college he is planning on becoming a nutritionist so that he can help people plan as well as maintain a healthy diet.
Chad Harper - 2018
Chad Harper was one of the recipients of the second annual Billy Franks Memorial Scholarship in 2018. As a member of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights lacrosse team, he always kept the group laughing and smiling, just like Billy. Chad will be attending West Virginia University where he has plans to study environmental science. While attending West Virginia University, Chad is hoping to continue his lacrosse career on the club team.
Gabe Ropchock - 2018
Gabe Ropchock was another one of the recipients of the second Annual Billy Franks Memorial Scholarship in 2018. Billy and Gabe knew each other since elementary school, and both have always gone out of their way to make others smile. Gabe participated in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights band and played the violin flawlessly. Gabe will be attending Kent State while continuing to his passion for music.

Paxton Speer - 2018
Paxton Speer was the third recipient of the second annual Billy Franks Memorial Scholarship in 2018. He was a two-year captain for the Brecksville-Broadview Heights lacrosse team where he shared Billy’s enjoyment of pumping up the team before games and being a motivator. This fall, Paxton will be attending Ohio State University where he plans on studying business and political science. While attending, he hopes to play Club Level Lacrosse.
